Simrath Ratra graduated from University of the Pacific in 2015 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. She is currently a graduate student pursuing her M.S. in Computational and Data Sciences with a focus in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. She eventually wants to work in the Biotechnology industry- helping healthcare improve with new and innovative ideas for drug discovery. In her undergraduate career, she was involved with research based on computational mapping of protein topology, mass spectrometry, and peptide synthesis. Now in graduate school, she is focusing her research and thesis on Cancer mutations. Outside of academics, in her free time Simrath enjoys traveling- you can always find her at the beach, out exploring pretty viewpoints, or at a sushi place!
